From September 2026, Winchester College will welcome girl boarders in to its Sixth Form for the first time in its history. To mark this historic moment, we have launched a virtual tour of the first girls boarding house to give a sense of what it might be like to be among its first residents.
The two brand new girls boarding houses will be located next to the recently opened Winchester College Sports Centre. Both houses will have a mixture of single and double rooms, all with en-suites, a common room, dining hall and co-ed study spaces. All centred around a beautiful, spacious courtyard.
Headmaster of Winchester College, Ms Elizabeth Stone commented: 'Since we first announced our plan to welcome girls boarders into the Sixth Form at Winchester, we have been working hard to bring this vision to life. Our dedicated pastoral team, including house tutors, teachers, and health and wellbeing support staff, has been closely involved with the design of both buildings and the interiors. Their involvement has been to ensure that girls joining us in September 2026 receive a very warm welcome and will find a home they can be proud of, a space where they can thrive and create lasting memories during their two years with us.'
